About
Hi, I'm glad you're here.
I always struggled writing an about me section, because there are two ways of doing it. You can either give the super-polished, corporate, soulless shtick, how I'm the person who specializes in "operationalizing security and EU legal compliance, ensuring systems are robust, effective, and governance-aligned". Or, and that's the second option, I can be completely authentic and describe myself as "someone who likes tech".
Wow, that second description is truly going to get me through a sales pitch.
But truth is, I do like tech. And the truth is also that my colorful career makes me stand out from the crowd. I worked as a CCNA (and Linux) instructor, so from that world I learned everything necessary about networking. Oh, and being a Linux instructor guy? Yeah, I've been with Linux since my mother introduced it to me when I was around 9 or 10 years old. I've programmed microcontrollers during my time as a student researcher.
But I've also done mobile application development. I worked with Java and XML views before Android Studio became the de-facto IDE for native Android development. I learned Kotlin, passed Infinum's Android Academy with flying colors. I dabbled into Flutter sometime in 2019 and actually made a big first step in my career because of it. Learned how to do backend development around the same time. My horizons of what's possible in tech have expanded incredibly fast, incredibly early in my career.
Today? I've worked with everything from backend application development (TypeScript with Nest.js framework, Go, Kotlin), frontend development (Next.js and React, Angular), to mobile application development (native Android with Kotlin and Java, native iOS with Swift + SwiftUI, cross-platform with Flutter). I've used everything from C to Python, to the point when I'm language agnostic. I'll pick up whatever is needed and get the job done.
I then obtained my CEH certification and performed many pentests across Slovenia. All of that combined, plus a bit of interest in following the legal landscape in Europe, turned me into an effective consultant. Being an instructor, mentor, and also a consultant taught me how to work with people.
I'm the guy who knows tech, because I like tech. I'm the guy who knows how to work with people, because I like working with people. I don't know everything, but I damn sure know how to find the information and solve any problem that my clients have. My life taught me that someone has to do it, and it might as well be me. And when everything fails, we'll try out something crazy.
